Very poor Blu Ray player

If you want a basic Blu Ray player, you can still do better than this.
For one, there is no built in decoder (altho it's falsely advertised) for TrueHD or DTS tracks on movies. Worse yet, even on a movie such as Lord of the Rings after spedning a 1/2 hr in the setup settings, altho it picked up the DTS track in the menu, it didn't play it thru my reciever. And while we are on SD movies, the upconversion even with an HDMI cable was horrible. There was no really noticable difference or pop in the colors.
Not to mention there is no way to connect to the internet for firmware fixes and the bulk takes up too much room on my shelf.
My advice, spend the extra 50 bucks and get the Panasonic player that just recently came out and also adverised or Sears' website |
